Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds a Distinguished Chair in Psychology in the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. Her name has been recognized as a pioneer in the field of eyewitness testimony and child witnesses in the legal setting. The number of publications by Professor Goodman is extensive, she has received numerous grants and is the recipient of many awards at both national and internationally. She has provided advice on policy and research for numerous government agencies and departments across the world. She works as a Consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly known as Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She has been a member of several professional associations, including those of the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for Child and Family policy and practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) Prof. Goodman is a fellow of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has been president of three divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development and Practice Division American Psychological Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
